Taipei—The number of visitors to Computex continues to increase on day three of the show. This is especially true of MSI's hands-on area which has seen a steady stream of international buyers and members of the media. In addition to checking out the new Z68 platform and the N580GTX Lightning Xtreme Edition, the world's fastest graphics card, people are lining up to take the GT780 for a spin. The planet's fastest gaming NB, the GT780 has made a name for itself by breaking 20,000 on PCMark Vantage and because of the sound and visuals that add to game realism.

Dynaudio and THX TruStudio Pro bring sound to new levels
MSI's gaming NBs—the GT780, GT683, and GE620, all come equipped with Intel second generation Core™ i7 quad core processors under the hood. The GT780 and GT683 also pack 16GB DDR3 memory and nVidia's powerful new generation discrete graphics card, making its debut at this show, giving them combat performance unprecedented in other notebook computers. As to audio and visuals, very important to the serious gamer, MSI pulled all the stops. After trying one out, a booth visitor confided, "Performance is obviously very important in gaming, but when comparing similar products, gamers don't just look at CPUs and VGAs. They also care a lot about sound and visuals and really appreciate the amazing multimedia experience provided by MSI's GT780 and GT683 courtesy of top-end Dynaudio and THX TruStudio Pro wrap around sound as well as the full HD screens. These are things that extreme gamers look for when out shopping for computers." MSI Global Marketing AVP Vincent Lai explained, "To offer gamers the best audio available, we had to redesign the gaming laptop's internal structure and reposition speakers to allow the woofer to emit clear, crisp sound unimpeded. This really challenged the innovative capabilities of our R&D team." Over the course of overhauling the internal structure of the gaming NBs, MSI and Dynaudio engineers carried out innumerable precision calculations to find the "sweet spots" in which to place the speakers, so that sound waves are transmitted directly to the gamer for a truly unparalleled acoustic experience.

World's first NB with tailor-made keyboard
In addition to meeting the basic demands of gamers for processing speed and multimedia performance, MSI stands out from competitors in that it has studied the needs of gamers for many years in a number of ways, including communicating directly with gamers through well-known gaming forums, soliciting recommendations and even asking for votes to determine what gamers really want. One result: the GT780 is the first NB on the planet to come with a keyboard designed specifically with the serious gamer in mind. MSI collaborated with world name in gaming peripherals SteelSeries to design an extreme gaming keyboard with LED backlighting. They increased the size of frequently-used keys, placing them in "battle formation," and highlighted them in fire engine red. They relocated keys not used often to prevent accidental hits. The new layout of these now more durable keys provides for faster reaction time and comfort of use, so gamers aren't held back by their equipment. As a result, G Series NBs come highly recommended by European gaming powerhouse Fnatic.msi and American CS champions Evil Geniuses—teams that have found G Series laptops indispensible in white-hot firefights.
